I have an old book, The Black Art of VB Game Programming, which is made for VB3/4 (16-bit). You can probably find it in your local bargain bin. There are numerous others; I suggest looking around in a computer store/bookstore to find one that suits your style.

If you are nwe to VB programming, I would go ahead and grab a beginning VB programming book. They will generally give you a good basis for building on. Once you are more confident in your abilities, then go out and grab a game programming book.
My recommendation would have to go to Visual Basic Graphics Programming. While it wont teach you games specifically, you will get the knowledge you need to make the games come alive. If you are REALLY serious after that, and you know your math, 3D Game Engine Design is an excellent read, and will teach you how to structure a game engine for flexibility and power, in a language/platform independant manner.

Try Microsoft Visual Basic Game Programming with DirectX by Jonathan Harbour. Learn VB fairly well first though.

"Sams Teach Yourself Game Programming with Visual Basic in 21 Days"
Title is a bit of a handfull but the book is good. It also has a CD with all the projects.
You can get it from Amazon
