Ages ago I heard that the more fonts you have in your fonts folder the slower you PC becomes. Is that still true with Win 2000?

Quite possible. I know there is a limit of about 1000 before weird things start happening
Had a look around, found this http://pshopelementssupport.adobe.co...htm?DREID=7806
Alright, thanks Chris. Do you know if you can put fonts in a different folder and still use them in apps, without having to actually "install" the fonts or make a registry entry?
I seriously doubt it. All apps will look in the registry for a font which means you won't be able to select one that isn't installed.
Even if you had got that far, if it can't find the font, it will do a font substitution either on it's own or lookup one in win.ini I think
That's what I though. Oh well I'll just install a few at a time and see what happens.
