Whats stopping a plain CD Drive from reading a DVD?
The laser on the CD-ROM is way to broad for a DVD. The DVD format is much more compact and higher density. It takes a smaller, more precise laser to read it.Quote:

No it's not possible... that would probably require some electron microscope work or something similar... it would be cheaper to go buy a DVD-ROM for $20...
