Best way????

I was wondering what would be the best method for keeping user info from when they log in to when they logout? See, I am trying to make a browser based rpg. If you would like to help, then let me know. What method would be the be the best, putting it in the url, session id's, or cookies? Please say why it would be best aswell, thank you.

combination of sessions and cookies.

sessions use cookies (or URL if cookies are disabled in the browser)

Cookies will be much easy, but sessia will be more secure- so, just select, what important for u.
