I had VC6 and VB6 but no VStudio 6, so do I have Platform SDK? Or I need to download?

You will have the same documentation that is in a small subsection of the PSDK. However, it is updated fairly regularly, so you're best off downloading and using the SDK (which also comes with far more recent header/library files than VC++).
Basically, it's the canine reproductive organs of Win32 API documentation ;)
