I hate FrontPage....
I'm specifically tailoring links to point to a relative path (as the final app is to be CD based) and this stupid piece of gay crap keeps automatically changing the links to full paths.... ****!!!

That's why notepad is the best HTML editor ever =).
Z.
I want a GUI - I've got 200+ pages to go through and do some simple **** to, and I don't want to be stuffing around typing all the crap out I have to do. I need a GUI for tables and stuff.
I'm gonna have to use f****page and then just write a bit of quick code to go replace all the full paths to relative ones in VB. BLoody pain in the arse though...
Why the **** do Microsoft make their software do stupid **** like this without providing the option of it NOT happening??
And whose stupid idea was it to make f***page an SDI??
That's it rj.. get it all out :)
And I agree with you about notepad... Geek heaven.. normal person Hell;)
FrontPage is poo poo. :p
I use it sometimes, partly because I know FrontPage for example is going to insert all sorts of bodgy crap in my HTML that I don't want, especially when I make a Netscape compatible page, but when I need to do quick edits to 200+ pages, that's definately not in my Top 10 ways to do this...:rolleyes:Quote:

I havent used Frontpage for a while now but I am pretty sure that u can set the links to be 'absolute' or 'relative'. I cant remember how but i am sure it is quite simple. Maybe look up those terms in the help file.
I no longer use Frontpage and have gone geeky  using Notepad. It is just as easy and far less frustrating.
If you want to edit the text in VB I made a little proggie a while ago that did that job... i cant search for it cos the search thingy doesnt work but will try a look around to see if i can find it :)
Found it .. hmm now that was too easy
You may have to change it for ur circumstances as it was just a throw together for a one off purpose...

Frontpage is pure ****
Frontpage Express however is actually quite useful. It keeps relative links relative and also anything it doesn't understand (e.g. javascript) it will leave well alone
You got a problem with homo's? eh? do ya.. punk? :mad:Quote:

I've searched for an option BB... damn it... guess I have to read the instructions now... :(
Dammit... if I use the file browser to create my link, rather than typing the path in... Frontpage automatically makes it a relative link... stupid piece of goddam..... :o
You think you got problems. My computer's just crashed about 6 times this evening already!!

I never got into emacs, but vi certainly owns notepad too =).

Bah, vi is the work of Satan ;) Nah, vi is ok actually, I don't mind using it in a pinch, but vim is much better. Both better than Notepad :)
vim == vi in my mind =).

I agree with Wally Pipp. why dont you use dreamweaver? it's really good. Have you tried DreamWeaver MX? the new version is pretty easy to use;)
Because of the cost issues involved...
I thought Dreamweaver was freeware o.O;.
=).

That it may be, but this is for a work thing, so I think I'll steer clear for now. ;)
well you can find it for about $200 if you buy it used:rolleyes:
