Runtime error '429'

I wrote a pretty basic VB prog a few months ago which incorporates accessing a MS access database (.mdb)

Since trying to run this prog recently (I've not used VB for ages) I get the following error code '429' and message:

'activex component can't create object'

I can't get the thing to run, and it's really annoying.
I've reinstalled VB5 but still doesn't fix problem.
I haven't changed any of the code (it worked fine several months ago) so I don't understand why it's deciding not to work.

Can anyone suggest why I'm getting this problem please?

That must be the most annoying problem for all vb5-users. I can't create objects in runtime for the same reason
