Depends on your monitor. The factors include:
Monitor's resolution
Monitors refresh rate @ said resolution
Colour depth @ said res.
Video card's capabilities
Your eyeballs
I have a 15" TFT that runs 1400x1050x32 bit.

I have a 17 inch HP S70. Can anyone suggest a good resolution for this?
1024x768, or
1280x1024 if:
a) Your monitor can support 85HZ refresh at that res
b) Its sharp at that res
c) You're eyes are good :)
Lots of 17" monitors blow at anything more than 1024x768. And 1024 blows :(

I have a 17" running at 1152x864@65Hz at 32-bit colour.
However, i use the "large fonts" option in windows so that everything isnt too small.
5600x4200x128 bit.
And it's a 8" monitor.
Care to post a screenshot?:pQuote:

1600x1200x32bitx85 Hz rocks on a 21" monitor
i run 800x600x32x100mhz cuz my eyes suck n i can't read nething at any larger res, i ran up to 1024x768 on my SVGA 486 ps/2 monitor in my room though, couldn't read a god damned thing, but it ran it :D:D
1280x1024x32 on my 19 inch monitor and 1024x768x16 on my 17 inch monitor (yes, I have two monitors and one computer)
One is 85Hz the other is 75Hz, the second one works at 85Hz but the first one acts weird...
I'd go to 1152x864x32 on my second monitor, but the video card sucks so it doesn't support resolutions that high. My next video card will hopefully support dual monitors so I can dump this piece of trash S3 Trio 2MB PCI...
That said, on a 17 inch I wouldn't use anything less than 1024x768x32 with 85Hz..
i also occasionaly have my TV hooked up to my computer, not exactly sure what res that runs at, and im too lazy to check... i have a second monitor supported, i just don't use it... the other monitor is normally used for fixing other systems...
HEY JUNGLEMAN? ARE YOU THE 1337357 PERSON BECAUSE YOU HAVE A DUAL MONITOR SYSTEM WHERE ONE OF THE CARDS COST $5?Quote:

The res I'm running at on this monitor is the highest supported by the card: GeForce2 GTS.
Still pretty cool considering this is a "work" machine :p
But I have two monitors, and you don't :pQuote:

Its funny that this got brought up today. One of my clients had been emailing saying that they cannot log on and edit their inventory which I can fine. So I have been dealing with them to figure it out (they are in a different counrty so I cannot see their screen) so today they call and I walk through it with them, It is a straight calendar and the 29th 30th & 31st was off the screen... :)
I just added a h-scroll to quick fit it. till i have time.
michael
