I need to identify particular modems by manufacturer and model. I have tried using the VB comm control, sending an ati string to the modem via the MSComm.outbox and reading the contents of the MSComm.Inbox. This has proved very unreliable.
Does anyone know the best way to retrieve Modem information, specifically the manufacturer/model?
Alternatively can anyone offer any other options to the MSComm control?
