Have anyone bought VB6 deluxe learning edition?
Is that good or a bad buy?
I'm thinking of buying either that one or "VB6 from scratch" which includes the VB6 working model. What do you think I should do?
And does anyone know if VB6 standard edition includes any books?
Can you make exe's in the standard edition, why I'm asking is because you can't do that in the learning edition or the working model edition.

I don't think the Model Edition allows you to compile your code to EXE.

I know and it's a pity you can't do exe's with that edition!

I bought the VB6 Learning edition (not sure about deluxe) And you can both compile, and distribute your stuff, then i upgraded to Pro edition because you cant use many OCX's in the learning ed

I personally do believe in using Learning Editions or Model Edition or whatever. If I were you, I'd either Buy the Professional or Enterprise edition, because you know that you are going to upgrade to one of those in the future. Might as well just buy it now.

I have had one learning edition by macmillan software and you could not compile, i now have the MS learning and it's ok but you cannot do much, Prof and Enterprise are better

The only learing edition of anything I bought had come from a book that I bought.

delux learning edition is the learning edition, but it comes with like 2 books.
I see them on Ebay all the time

Thanx Dennis, but I don't live in the US.
I checked with Microsoft today and they said that the standard edition is the learning edition(confusing) and to compile programs you must buy either professional edition or enterprise edition.
I think that the deluxe learning edition is the best one right now and I'm thinking of buying that one, because it includes start books, but it's quite annoying you can't compile programs in it.
Also one more thing, the learning/standard edition doesn't include that much database programs and activex support or something like that.

Microsoft are a bit dum, I have got VB6 Learning/Standard and have been compiling programs for months. It's cheap and DOES compile except you cannot do much. Prof and Ent are best!

Hmmm, maybe you can compile but i don't think you can distribute.
