Anyone know any good (free) code formatters?
What do you mean by code formatting? Like indenting code a certian number of spaces in specific places?
I wrote a VB addin a while back that will format the code.
I usually use the addin not for my coding, because I indent as i type, but rather when I read somebody's else code.
that's a really god Idea Serge, could you send me a copy, or is it buried deep in your HD?

I would like to have that too please.
[email protected]
if possible, I would like the source too :)
That's what I meant Serge. It would be perfect!
Send me a copy

Thanks
Guys, I have sent you an Addin. Enjoy.
send it my way to surge
[email protected]
Sure.
Serge,
I am looking for something almost exactly, except I am going to format a source file, without starting IDE. Exactly, I have a tool to generate source code, but after generate, it is terrible about the indentation. Your add-in seems to be very helpful to me.
If you don't mind, would you send me the source, so that I modify a bit to format a file, instead of running in IDE mode.
Thanks.... A LOT

yeah serge, could you send it to me too :)
thanks

Can I also have a copy?
Thanks in advance.

Serge,
I haven't receive the code formatter yet!
Please send me a copy
My, Serge, you seem to have become quite popular with your new toy.
People who want it should E-mail him instead of him having to check this thread all the time (it's old now)
kmchong, I have sent your the Addin.
Serge,
I found this thread and I would like to ask if you could send me a copy of your add-in for formatting code. :)
Many thanks

Serge
I would like to have a look see at that add-in.

Thanks
Perhaps it should go in the Codebank?
That's what I say. Screw this emailing stuff. Post it somewhere!
I'll even offer up the webspace if you don't want to/can't post it here.
The forum has no place for utilities, just code (CodeBank). Maybe we need a UtilityBank?
I concur.
I agree. I'm in the process of finishing off a VB add-in, and dont want the hassle of building a web-site just for that.
by the way, I don't know if Serge is still reading this - he hasn't been around for a long time :(
Neither has Hack. What happened to all the old guys??
from what I remember they got bored of the same questions being asked constantly...
for a while exactly the same questions got posted every hour or two (by different users), nobody bothered even looking for the answer on the first page of the gen. vb forum, let alone searching.
it was tedious to say the least!
and you're saying it has changed?
I can understand why they left tho... I guess the only reason I stick around is because I still need help sometimes and I enjoy helping where I can (even tho I'm a little off on some of my answers sometimes  )
But back to topic, I do think a Utility/Addin Bank would be useful.
it's a LOT better than it was, still annoying sometimes tho :(Quote:

it's the same way for most regulars, keep up the good work ober :thumb:
I've added a thread in forum feedback suggesting it...Quote:

We shall see what the moderators have to say about that.
