and if that doesn't work, unplug it, pull out all the boards, plug them back in, reinstall all your drivers a half-dozen times. Swear at Windows. Smack the case a couple times in frustration. Cut yourself on the metal edges inside the case the manufacturer didn't feel were necessary to deburr. Then reformat and start from scratch. After all that's done, decide your computer is too outdated anyway and buy a new one. That ALWAYS works for me.
