vmware help
Ok I hve vmware 3.0 I am running windows XP Pro, and I install vmware and all that works fine, and I got to install Linux Mandrake 8.1 I get to the configureing the Video card and monitor. Well Mandrake has a VMware video driver, so i select that one, and all is fine, well I get to the monitor since vmware fakes everything, it does't use the same monitor i have. So I try all of the generic ones, and none of them work. I check vmware's website, nope no answers. It give info is you are running vmware on linux and install windows, it nicely says that windows will find the right drivers...now why cant linux do that?? So if anyone knows what drivers I should use, maybe you have vmware and have instaled linux on it. Please help me out.

Use Generic VGA for the video card (any one will do). THe moniter doesnt really matter, just make sure that the refresh rate is like, 60Hz. Once you get Linux running, you can then install the VMWare Tools thing, and get a decent resolution.
