C/C++ console app for DOS only

Hi!

Does anyone know how to make a MS-DOS console application, that can operate with screen in text mode?
So that I can erase the screen or write character on any coordinate on the screen, change colors of characters/background etc?

I'd be really happy if I find out some more here or if any of you know some interesting link...

Get an old compiler. DJGPP creates DOS 32-bit executables, as can old Borlands and old VCs. All of them also have additional functions that might help you.
