Are those good pieces of hardware or are they crap? I'm really ignorant when it comes to this stuff.

Seagate is alright and memory is all pretty much the same. It would be nice if the HDD was ATA133 but you'll probably not notice a real performance boost if it was anyway.

I avoided that just because it was Samsung, they can't get Walkmans right...

So you'd go with Seagate over Samsung?

I'd go with Western Digital over all of them but whatever floats your boat, I'd avoid the Samsung personally though

Wrong, memory is not all the same. Some brands OC WAY better than others.

Dane-Elec...sounds generic. Go for Kingston if you aren't OCing, and Corsair if you are.

Samsungs are OK but they are hella-slow. Get a Maxtor 7200rpm. Fastest, most reliable, and best...

Sastraxi...bet you don't notice the slower seek times since your system is, well, slow...check out StorageReview.com and the Samsung pretty much flops every test against WD and Maxtor counterparts.

Never had any problems with Maxtor or Fujitsu hds if thats any help.......

OC = Overclocking? No, I'm not doing that.

I'll take these suggestions to heart. It might be another paycheck before I actually buy anything, so any more suggestions would be helpful. I also have to get an estimate on my car...

Just be careful when getting an OEM hard drive, because you might not be getting a warrranty.
