I want to download Opera and there's two options, Java and non-java. There's quite a big size difference, but what else is different between the two? What does it mean by Java?

Since my advice is not wanted, I'll just delete my well-informed post.
Download Java version if you want to be able to view Java applets. I think if you have Java installed you don't need it, but I'd download it anyway unless you're sure you don't need it.
3.4mb and 11mb is a big difference when you're forced to use a 56k.
I've got 56k too, but I don't pay for the calls so it's a bit different for me :D It's not that often you need Java anyway, and when you do just use IE or what ever you have already.
