Just wondering what the difference is between ADSL and DSL?
DSL is a family of technologies.
DSL = {ADSL, RADSL, HDSL, VDSL, SDSL}
All operate on the same basic idea, but implemented slightly different etc.
HDSL is designed as an alternative to T1. T1 uses AMI encoding, but that limits it to a 1Km length.
HDSL uses 2B1Q encoding instead.
Datarate = 2Mbps at a distance of about 3.6Km without repeaters.
SDSL is the same as HDSL, but it uses one single twisted-pair cable.
VDSL is an alternative to ADLS, and uses coax, fiber, or twisted pair for short distances (300 to 1800m).
It uses DMT with a bit rate of 50-55Mbps downstream and 1.5-2.5Mbps upstream
So they're all different, but similar :)
Thank you Jamie *big kisses* :) It's nice to have you back *hugs*
Yep, nice to be back :)
Just have to convince people now that I'm not black, and flubberfag didn't actually get me banned, nor did anything like that happen.
Oh yeah another thing.
My exams finish on friday, and assuming I've recovered from the drugs&drink over the weekend by monday, I'm going to be writing more tutorials.
I think the ones that are there are a bit highly pitched, ie. not all that much to users learning VB for the first time.
So I was thinking about simple tutorials.
Any ideas yourself on that ?
Umm, I need to take another look at yours first :) I'll see whta I can come up with. My last exam is computing, on Thursday. Wish me luck! Pob lwc to you too :) *hugs* Hope you have fun over the weekend ;) Flubberfag? You mean FurryButt?
well any combination resulting in a slagging off of his name will suffice ;)
I've a computer science exam tomorrow, and a computer technology exam on friday.
Good luck in yours!
