I'm going to a late showing on Friday. I hope its decent.
already saw it one past midnight...
Tell me if it's good. I hope it's not a disappointment like the last tone.

Once you reach the last 30 minutes, you'll be going nuts.. Rest of the movie was ok but the contant going back and forth between 2 storylines...and a scene from the Sound of Music..got a little anoying...
But otherwise...oooff...Packed house at the theater and I have never heared such a roar of applaudes and cheers...
well the movie was alright... let's see if you go in there awaiting a cool starwars movie you will be really disappointed... but if you go in there and await to see the successor to Episode one the movie will be great :)
it is way better than Episode one, but it still has its disappointed moments (lots of them)
many of the ideas seem to be stolen from daily scifi soaps :) and there is a lot of animals that don't really look that real and a bunch of things you can easily tell they were computer generated...
some of the action extremely resembled to Super Mario bros on the NES, but I guess when it was fun playing back than it's also good enough for the movies...
The annoying Bings dude only got a few minutes so that's alright...
what I enjoyed about early starwars was the great battle between humans... (battle at the hoth!!! great one!!) not wierd aliens that remind me of all the startreck scum and robots...
well still was a fun night watching it!
make your own judgement...
im watching it at thursday 12:01.hehe
got nothin else to do mall is giving out free stuff, me and my friends are gonna go to see teh freaks
howd u guys see it already?
The 12:01 showing was on the Wednesday before it came out. Well technically it is Thursday, but you get what I mean. You are going to see it a day late... most of the "freaks" went this morning/last night. I went and saw it last night at 12:01 and I thought it was a really awesome movie. Waaaaay better than Episode 1. :) That's all I'm saying for now. You will have to go see it and decide if I am lying or not.;)
alright... I saw it at thursday 12.01 too, but since we have quite a big timeshift from europe to usa I had the chance of going there before you could :p
Just got back from the cinema - and wow it was awesome Although the sound of music scene was a bit naff.
The greatest disapointment was that there wasn't enough Jar Jar Binks in it.:D
Well the Phantom Menace was the biggest pile of crap that I have seen in a long time.... when new technology comes in, u notice that the first round of BIG movies concentrate on using that technology and say bugger the story.
The original eps were good becos they were a basic fairy tale with good story and characters. The new ones are all froth and bubble.
Open letter to Mr Lucas :p The computer generated characters, scenes etc DO NOT ... I repeat DO NOT even look remotely real and pale in comparison to real scenes and real actors.
ok Now can I ban the new movie without seeing it? That seems to be how its done isnt it? :p
It was pretty cool. Much better than episode 1.
I'm gonna see it in the theater hopefully this weekend...
I can tell you this much... the acting is better in this movie, the story is better, the movie as a whole is just much, much better than episode 1. I think George Lucas was off his rocker when he made episode 1... :pQuote:

OK, I have to admit that I love the first three movies (except for those retarded ewoks - looked like kids running around in bad bear outfits). But I never saw episode I because everyone said it sucks and I didn't want to ruin my vision of Star Wars.Quote:

So now everyone is saying "This movie is great compared to Episode I." Does that mean it's good or just better than the last one? How does it compare to the first three?
It fits in better with the first three than episode 1 did. You should see episode 1 before you see 2, even if you want to. It will make much more sense if you see ep1 first. I think that overall, I think the original star wars is the best then comes empire strikes back, then the one that just came out. But that is just my opinion. :)
Bit slow, but awesome ending. Bit weird finding out Boba Fett is really Jake the Muss though...
I've never been to a movie where the crowd got involved, and started cheering - wicked ending. Very wicked. I want to see it again just for the ending.
:)
The same with me. That ending... that has to be one of the best ways for a movie to end. I don't wanna spoil anything so I won't say anymore. :)Quote:

what's special about the ending? I couldn't see it...
if you mean the thing with anakin... everyone knew that's gonna happen...
No - Yoda unleashing on the baddies. That was cool. :D
Yeah... that kicked ass! Then he grabs his cane is all frail again... lol. :DQuote:

yeah that was definetly unexpected!
I think it kind of was making fun of itself... this movie was involuntarily funny on more parts :)
I just saw that five people voted "I can wait till it comes out on DVD" I really can't understand that... I mean I enjoyed the movie, but watching it on TV wont be a lot of fun since the story is simple and has nothing to special about it... it's basically the glory of Battle and the cool graphics (and sounds) . I can't imagine you guys have something at home that lets you experience the same as in a kick ass movie theater...
In my opinion a DVD player, a decent television, a good sound system and a comfy armchair is far supperior to any cinema.Quote:

Try pausing, increasing the volume, grabbing a beer from the fridge and many other things in a cinema. Plus you don't have to sit next to smelly goits that insist on answering their mobile phones (unless you have some in the family)
I can agree with you for many movies but not for a movie that is basically dumb and lives of fast action... I think you can only have that athmosphere in a theater...
Also I think the movies are not that bad... the cellphone thing stopped now that everyone has a vibrating alarm :) and people grew up too since everyone has cellphones for about 3 years now... (I don't think it's as bad in the US, but here it is)
and I actually enjoy going to the movies sitting next to friends...
I counted three of them going off when I was in the cinema last night. Also about 50 people getting up, shuffling around to the toilet/bar - a handfull of them walking infront of the screen - providing the bobbing head effect.Quote:

Also I was pretty dissapointed with the picture quality. It was very grainy, slightly out of focus and with quite a lot of artifacts flashing up - and the sound was pretty poor too. On the whole no where near as good quality/definition as DVD. As I understand it ATOTC was filmed entirely on digital cameras so why should this be. The cinema I went to was only completed a few weeks ago so you would think they would have pretty decent equipment.
that is wierd... the movie place I went to is pretty nice... the quality rocked and the sound is pretty good too (did not get to go into the best place though..., but still pretty good)
and I haven't heard any cellulars in the movies for a loooong time...
where are you from? that really sounds wierd to me!
Bradford in the UK - home to mindless cellphone using thugs.
The screen I saw it on was meant to be a delux one (whatever that means) - but I won't be going back there in a hurry. These multiplexes suffer from trying to pack as many screens as possible into a small area and you end up with small theatres and screens. The best cinema here closed down a while back - It had a massive screen and loads of room - but they closed it down after they built a multiplex just out of town.
I'm planning to go see it again in a few days time somewhere else, so hopefully it will be better.
Sound was great at my theater and we did have a bit of the grainy effect, but it was noticable becuase we were pretty close to the screen. And yes it was filmed in all digital, but of course you loose that benefit on regualr film reels. Just be thankful your theater didnt show it in all digital. Apprently at least half the digital theaters had problems and either didnt get the movie started till sbout 2:30 (2 and a half hours late) or gave out vouchers for another showing. Riots were nearly caused in a Scotland theater..:P You would think it was a football game...(aka Soccer for us Americans)Quote:

We actually had police go around in our theater and tell everyone to turn their phones off or leave. They said if they hear a sinlge phone ring and see who it is, they will be escorted out....mwuhahah!! Fortunatly we never heared a sinlge ring. But the ******* with a laser pointer got trown out..Everybody applauded that one...
I avoid theaters because of the price, the crowd, the distraction and the discomfort. I agree that a lot of movies are better on the big screen, but as movies are getting to be 2 1/2 to 3 hours long, that's just too long for me to sit in one spot. At about 90 minutes I want to leave and no longer care about watching the movie.
Dude! What's wrong with all of this!!!???
I experienced the same thing with movie places closing down because of the dumb multiplex... but except for beeing expensive and crowed and causing all my favourite places to close (...)
it really has great quality and big theaters...
Let me say it a different way, because there is nothing wrong with it. I just don't enjoy it. A lot of people obviously do, so they go and I wait for the video unless it's something that I just have to see on the big screen. The last movie that fell into that category for me was Private Ryan.
:D Actually, I do. :DQuote:

I'm green with envy!!!!!!!
Men and women both have to have their toys.......
...it's just our toys tend to be a bit too big to slip into a handbag ;)
Can't I have both?
Greedy, aren't I?:D
I'd have both. :)Quote:

But I have an excellent home theater. All I need to make it complete is a home to put it in. Actually, the 32" screen is kind of small for theater, but it only cost me $60 for a brand new Sony Trinitron flat screen, so I'm not complaining. :)
well I watch movies like that at a friends house and I definetly like it, but you got to admit that it does not come close to a movie theater... (even though again a normal tv without added sound doesn't come close to a projected movie)
surround sound makes such a difference :) wish I had it  going to go see episode 2 at 10 tonight :)
2 hours 14 minutes
