it's when the picture is reduced to 100px x 100px and the rest is taken up by Rupert Murdoch propagandaQuote:

macrovision is an encoding technique so that you can't copy from DVD/SKY to VHS :)
Yup! that's right.Quote:

as for your question mark, I think that most do not have it at the moment :) mine certainly doesn't :D
yeah Ian just Buys porn on DVD, records it on to video and then takes it back thus creating Free PornQuote:

Oh right
I've only just started looking into DVD players and trying to search for a feature that a product does NOT have is a tad tricky.
What make/model have you got?
picked mine up from teso's of all places, was a make I've never heard of (Dansai) but for 100 quid , it was multi region, NTSC , digital output (although it didn't come with a speaker set) and plays them really well :)
I've got a Playstation 2 which I use as a DVD player (as well as the obvious gaming too!), and there is no problem 'backing up' ;) DVD's on to VHS...
I do believe I preferred my descriptionQuote:

Why is Sky in on it?! I record off normal TV, that's the whole point of VCRs...when analogue gets switched off, *** are you meant to do then?!
Arsebandits

I knew that model didn't have macrovision but I don't think you can get it anymore :(
The newer version 1010 has it on some of them but not all and I don't think there's anyway of telling before you actualy try the thing:(
I only bought mine about 1 month ago

Perhaps I ought to get off my arse and go and actually have a look! ;):)
but that was from one of the stores, just looked at their web site and they are not listing them :(
Our local Tesco just got some 852s in :):)
cool  :) haven't had a single problem with mine :) I've now got to put some time away as I've picked up Apacalypse now redux and with the added material it takes the film up to just under 4 hours
i tried hooking my computer up to my VCR and recording but i still get the mix up. but then i downloaded a program so you can convert the .VOB (dvd file) in to a mpeg file on your computer (lower quality) and then i tried recording on to VHS from the mpeg file and it worked :)
mpeg 1 bt the way :)
like basically converting it to a Video CD, which most dvd players are able to play :D
