Thank you.
I've been looking for a QB7.1 download for a long time.
Actually your the reason i put it up there.
Yeah, it's a great language to start with BASIC. I've downloaded it few months back to learn BASIC and now I don't even look at it because I got VB 6.0 ;)
:p Kinjal :p
Hey megatron, how did the download go? Did it work?
Not be an ass here, well.. acctually to be the first ass on this message topic.. lol YOU ARE BREAKING COPY RIGHT LAWS, I'm contacting MS, Stop me if you CAN HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!
Ok, here is what we do, every day every one here sends one email to microsoft saying that since QBasic isnt sold anymore they shold let QBasic be freely distributed on the net. Cmon itll work
I agree. QBASIC was what I used to start off (when I was 9) and now I'm 15 and using VB6. I still like QB and I think it should be free too.
I learned QBasic when I was 8 from my brother, and I'm now 13 using VB5 and w.o QB I would have had a lot of problems when I started VB, so it should be free to attract customers to VB and VC++

So lets do it.
QB is free, for learners, the one that comes with your system, only QB 4.5 and QB 7.1 and so forth are not free, they shouldn't be free (well be free, but not that free), because they're commercial quality software. and STill they're Copy Righted and this is called Piracy, so STOP ME IF YOU CAN HEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!! I LIKE BEING AN ASS... this is my first time!! HA HA HA HA !!! and no I'm not 8 years old. I'm 8 years and 2 months old!!
We want it to be free cuz you cant buy it any more.
Actually WildGhost, you're wrong. Look that the Copyright date. it says 1994, which means it's 6 years over the deadline.
Anyhow, if you delete your copy within 24h, it's okay. And that's exactly what I did.
Who's the ass now?
acctually Qbasic 4.5 is not copy righted anymore, but MS is still forcing people not to 'pirate' the version.. and yes you can buy it, online, I forgot what is that address though, QB7.1 is still copyrighted.. QB4.5 is the one that you could use and not worry about doing a crime, cause it's not copyrighted anymore..
QB is distributed on the win95 CD !!
It's free now!
Look at the copyright date on 7.1! It's expired! Anyhow, I deleted it within 24h, so everything's cool.
Thanks dood, I downloaded it!
There seems to be so much more in it than I remember years ago. Wow! small stand alone exe's !! I think I can find a use for it.
Question to Qbasic users:
Since there is no Byte type what do you use with the open binary statement. I notice that you can open for binary but do you use a string to hold the bytes? can you hold more than 32k with of bytes? or would you need an array of strings? holding a chopped up file?
I didn't know anything about byte arrays when I used QB, now I depend on them.
HELP!!
