3d models

Does anyone know how to convert Ray Dream 3d objects to any format I can use in DX8 (x or any format that can be converted to x, like 3ds)?

Or if not, does anyone know of free 3d modelers? They don't need to be very good, I just want to have some models I can use for programming. I have one shareware modeler, but it doesn't allow saving. I don't really want to buy a 3d modeler because I already have RD3D...
