Mr. Baker!!!!!!!!!! What's shaking, Sugarpea?
Well and truly at a complete loss at the moment. The final offer that the company has come back with is in my view not sustainable, my colleague who I'm doing it with was escorted off my home office today when he started to talk to our boss about leaving, never even said anything about what we are trying to do, so I'm uncertain as wether I have actually got any breathing space what so ever to re-employ myself. it looks like I will have to accept the companies offer otherwise I will be unemployed and some money is better than none. I am sooo glad that the weekend has started as I need a couple of days to clear my head. so no more doom and gloom :)
Is the job market that bad that you have to accept a unsatisfactory offer or be un-employed? You have a good CV from all accounts, go out there and pick the job you want and tell the buggers to bugger off! Of course, there's nothing wrong with keeping your current job even with substandard conditions while you're looking!
sorry katie, not thinking straight I forgot to add that part. from monday I am sending out my cv to the agencies and I have probably got a two week time period to find another job, if I can then all good, but if I can't, I will more than likely have to take the company up on the offer, just to secure a salary.
Do you have to sign a contract for x-number of years or can you take their offer and immediately begin looking for something better suited to your needs?
The work is only guaranteed up untill september any way as it will be working in a Consultant capacity. But the costs of going self-employed is outweighing the amount of money that they are offering, and what with having to pay my own traveling expenses to get up to london, I just can't see it being viable.
I know tat this sounds stupid, but when one door closes another on opens! I've been in situations where what I thought was the worst thing in the world just led me to something wonderful!!! Keep your chin up and go get smashed!!!!!!
you know me Katie, it takes a hell of alot to get me down, and I'm only at the conerned staged at the moment, things have to get a hell of alot worse to kill my happy moods. :)
Glad to hear it! I still wouldn't rule out the getting smashed option, though! ;)
