Treeview and pictures

hey people i know how to add a icon/picture in front of a item in a treeview but is there a way to get them in the text? :S hope it is posible in a easy way :S

i am working on my very own messenger but it would be cool if you could see the emoticons in somebodys name even just in the list ;) but rewriting the whole thing means i have to rewrite some pages of code.. and i just got that far :S

if somebody has a premade that is working just like a origional one i would love to have it :D and i dont use somebodys codes without giving the guy (or girl) credit ;)
