As for the uses...browsing (if it doens't have internal wlan, I'll just toss in a card), watching DVDs, light gaming. For comparison, my P3-933/GeForce 256 is enough as it is.
How much is it?
Looks good to me. the GF2 Go is a plus, even if its only 16MB memory, it'll still let you play UT.
It's $1499, and with those features it sounds like a steal.
yea sounds pretty niceQuote:

15" display isn't necessary. What's the native res on that Toshiba laptop?
1024x768, just enough.
BTW according to that PDF the screen size is 14.1
Nice :)Quote:
Approx. 3-3.5H battery life; Recharge time: 3.0H unit off / 4H-11H unit on

I especially like this bit
As long as people still play Q3 and UT you can have a mini-LAN party at college without lugging your big computer:cool:Quote:
The 3005 played Quake III Arena (in 640 by 480 Normal mode) at 95 frames per second, and even in 800 by 600 High-Quality mode sizzled through 70 frames per second. The latter benchmark was literally 100 times faster than one stutter-stop notebook we tried recently.
This certainly has promise above the Dell, and since CompUSA offers it I don't have to pay shipping either. So far Toshiba is teh winnar. :)
My dad said I could get it after I graduate (May 30). Good enough for me, enough time to investigate some more. My mentor at work has a Toshiba laptop and it's really nice, the best speakers I've ever heard, and a nice keyboard.
That burner write speed sucks though, 4x. :( Won't be using the burner that much though, probably only the RW part.
By the time graduation comes aroudn there'll be an even leeter laptop available...Quote:

That's only 45 days...as long as the price stays the same and the leetness goes up, then alrighty :)
