Foot in Mouth
I'm sure we've all done it, heres the best of my wifes many:
Her first gig of any real size was at The Live Theatre in Newcastle.
She had only been singing professionally for abour 1 month and was invited to do a charity show.
She was support act for a local band and started the show with a 20 min set.
After her last song the audience was yelling out 'more more', when the shouting had died down, she said
"you must all be mad wanting more from me".
Well they were.
The charity was a mental handicap one and half the audience had pieces of paper confirming my wifes statement.

Easily done!
We do a lot of gigs for charities, non-fund raising, just entertainment for the service users. We always try to avoid some songs:
'Hello', or 'I Can See Clearly Now' for the blind school, although we did manage to do 'Whiter Shade of Pale' - it's got a bit about 'my eyes were wide open, but I couldn't see a thing'.
We've also done 'Maria' for the mentally handicapped (go insane and out of my mind)
and on September 14th last year at a paid gig we came back in after a 2 minutes silence with 'Twisting the Night away', it was great until the bit about 'twisting down New York way'.
These charity gigs are great fun though, it's not just anywhere you can have an audience dancing from the first number right through to the last!
