I am bumping your post for you.
I didn't know you could do that in VB... just image editors.
I don't think thats possible in VB.... At least not with Picture/Image/Gif98
I don't know how to do it in VB but you can do it in Microsoft Photo Editor (that comes with Office 97/2000) and many other graphic programs
ok this is a theory....
i'm assuming that somewhere in the gif file there is probably just 1 byte of info that states which color is transparent in that particular file.
If this is correct then it would be logical that it is either very near the beginning of the file or very near the end of the file.
so if you knew the file structure of the gif file you could read the file in binary and change this byte of info.
In theory! :D
My advice is to look for gif file info on www.wotsit.org
actually reading back what i read the above theory sounds quite feasable :)
You MIGHT be RIGHT.... I was just working with Front Page Express and there was an option to set a certain color transparent. That's when It struck me (my table lamp).Quote:

If you have some sort of a hex editor or something of the sort, you could take a look there.

if no-one replies to your post then it will eventually drop off the bottom of the 1st page in the forum questions list and then chances are no-one will ever reply to it, so by replying to it even if you dont know the answer he's *bumped* it back up to the top. done you a favour basically :)
Thanks

dude... you are STONED.
If you didn't understand that, here it is in UNSTONED language:
You post something. Nobody replies. So you just reply to your own post with the message "bump" so that it goes to the top again. Then you start hoping that someone will see it and reply to it.
But nobody does. So you go out and get stoned. Then you come back and give replies like this:

I am!!
BTW, if you open up a JPG or a GIF in notepad and change a few letters around, you get really cool effects. (or crappy, depends on your POV) so you might NOT want to try it.
i didnt start it :eek:Quote:

And I didn't start it either.
