I don't play sport too much anymore, I used to play Football(soccer for those of you who think footballs a game where you don't use your feet much) and Rugby I used to Shoot as well(paper targets not animals) and I played fives but that was a long time ago.
I like to play soccer and basketball.
in australia football is afl, not soccer, it is a game where a whole lot of people chase a weirdly shaped ball, and try to kick it between the goal posts, or the point posts :)
Soccer, tennis, table tennis, skiing, sailing, programming.
Oops. Programming's not a sport, is it?
[Fingers: Well, it's tiring us out]
V(Ery) basic ur pretty sporty
I love the rush of rock climbing, and I get a kick out of dancing (any kind. It's extremely athletic). I'm currently working on my breakdancing (and defining the word Ow).
bob
I used to play Aussie Rules for about 7 years, then tried Rugby Union for a year, played everything from Tennis to Squash, Badminton, a smidge of cricket, swimming, track and field, weight lifting... Had a go at power lifting for a couple of years and did body building for a while there...
Like rock climbing and abseiling from time to time now, am an absolutely crazy Blader (In-line skates for those unsure), workout at least once a week, would like to do Taibo, play squash at least once a week for 2 hours at a time....
Oh and spend half of my evenings in the spa relaxing after all this terrible programming work ;)
I'm a Cricket addict!
I play around 3 or 4 times a week during the summer.
I do gymnastics about 10 hours a week, and am pretty good.
I've been invited to russia to train for a week, by my russian coach's old gym club.
I like ice hockey (5 years in the junior league), skiing, I play basketball for fun, Tennis, Rockclmbing twice (quite axilerating!) Oh yeah, computer games that have to do with sports are usually fun.
Only soccer AND track and field (triple jump, high jump, 400m, 4x400 rely - my events :) )!!!!!!
so gen-x, you are in australia?
gfurner, my sister is very good at gymnastics
and my brother was good at soccer, football and cricket.
i don't really like cricket or football though :(
da_silvy, here's the gymnatics website if your sister's interested: http://homepages.enterprise.net/manxgymnastics/

thanks, i'll pass that url on, but she isn't really the computing type :)
You know I used to be a die-hard WWF fan... but lately it has started to slip and get too "Soap Opera".
Now I share my time equally between WCW and WWF. The Rock is actually heading to Australia sometime soon to release the new Playstation game "Smack Down"
I watch WCW and WWF too, but i hope you realise it's fake.
I've never really understood the joys of watvhing WWF etc... I much prefer to watch rugby or something along those lines...
i don't really like wwf or wcw, because they are actors and it is fake
playing sport is better than watching it, because you are part the atmosphere easier :)
Here is the interesting thing ;)
Wrestling is "scripted"... We all know that...
BUT..
Is it fake when they land on the concrete from 20 feet in the air? Is it also a fake when people are "opened up" and bleed?
Ok so they are stunt men, so they have "techniques" for being able to minimize damage while maximizing the "illusion" that they are beating the hell out of each other.... But at the same time you have to admire the things they can do, their skills and their charisma.
Now while I don't personally see the charisma of some fat, balding guy whose hair is down passed his shoulders and has not ABOVE his ears... they turn just about as much profit as the SuperBowl...
Now you can't argue their popularity or their DRAW value
What we call Victorians up here in Sydney. Rugby Union is the caper...the game they play in heavan. Aussie Rules is generally worth watching...except when the Swannies loss five in a row, (trying not to cry too hard).
Has any one considered the AFL team names...like the Hawks, Cats, Tigers etc. What do we get in Sydney "The Swans". Maybe they thought it would attract the Darlinghurst crowd:)
Actually Jethro I'm an Adelaidian :D
Though having played Rugby Union before I have to say it comes very, VERY close to being one of the roughest sports in the world.
Far better than the padding they use in Gridiron... the wusses!!
:) :) Soccer and Basket Ball :) :)
