What is the best way to get this dust and keep it out of my PC. It's near impossible to do so in these caves :(

Er next to impossinle anywhere...you should be able to pick up a vaccum cleaner thingy to clean out your rig at your local hardware store....seriously...
Can of compressed air
Really lowers your temps too.
Great for killing yourself too when you sniff/drink it.
:D :D :D :D
Yeah another "tip" I suggest for your computer is hosing it down....;) :p :D
Justin attaches a rubber hose to it, drops his pants and.......Quote:

I suggest you do the dusting regularly, buy a dustbuster, get a big fan to keep the dust out, or move your computer away from the cave :)
I have a dustbuster :)Quote:

jpbtennisman, I dont think I nore anyone else around here wants to know how far you can fit a hosepipe up your rear port hole!! :p
you guys are nuts. never run a vacuum in a computer case. if your motherboard has jumpers on it and you run a vacuum in it, it will suck those off. I have seen it done. teh best and most safest way is to run a can of compressed air once month. and also try not to vacuum the rug around your computer as teh vacuum blows the dust right back into the computer case.
Exactly...even those "jumperless" boards still have some jumpers ;)Quote:

and without those you're fcuked
I think that was a joke mate ;)Quote:

Thou, I usally run a vacuum on low when its only needed on low (for dust etc.) as I hate the noise of the friggin' things.
Myself I use canned air, I have access to almost an unlimited supply for free :D  thou the stuff I use comes out VERY cold (need gloves or you get stuck to the can), and this is not the cold you get from the stuff you buy from shops!!
what was a joke??
I am serious as never run a vacuum in a computer. always use compressed air.
Was actually talking about one of those low voltage things designed specifically for cleaning out PCs. Have used them for years without any damage to a PC...quick and fast.....Quote:

Take the point about vaccuming around the PC though, might explain why l don't do any house work;)
I was j/k :)Quote:

i built my vaccum out of a pice of bendable tubing (very small diameter) a bunch of wood and a discarded computer fan, i don't like sticking the metal end of my vaccum cleaner near all the electronics in my computer
Myself i had a mini one which i used for the keys on the keyboard, i had so much fun with it (no jokes :p) I broke it :(Quote:

You could invest in one of those duct jackets to put over the rig when it ain't in use.....approx 10 minutes of the day;)
i always find those funny, people religiosly put those on, when the real bother to the computer is it being sucked in through the fans :p

LOL:D:D:D:D
Don't ya just love it when the fan sounds like a 747 taking off...
Don't you just love it when it REALLY takes off?!! :D
mine sounds more like a cessna, i stuck 2 extra fans in (i turn them off at night) and it is a low humm mixed with a higher wine (CPU fan)
Can;'t believe how quiet the new rig is, was having to turn the old one off at night due to excess noise.....Robbie is going to get the old one, so may have to lift the lid and give it a real good cleanup.....Quote:

i don't have a fan on my graphics card, i need to upgrade it, it is a 32 mb geforce mx 200. i also gotta replace my CPU fan, the ones i added are both 80mm and nice and quit however the CPU fan is quite loud, they won't cover it under warrenty though cause it is still going at the proper RPM. ARGHH.

no someone needs $155 american or $247 canadain with tax that works out to around $284 canadain, i have 300 right now and half of that is going to uni, that leaves me with $150, hmmmm only $134 to go, or more like $268 to go (uni) :p plus i want a ps2.
Why not get an XBOX? XBOX is better than PS2.Quote:

A PS2 is like a GeForce2, and XBOX Is like a GeForce3 :)
an Xbox is a computer, it is the only system where you can get a BSOD, i am holdin gout for an emulator on that one. plus i am a HUGE final fantasy fan.
well i am sick of nvidia i am getting a raedon
It's a computer so it's faster ;)Quote:

You don't think PS2 has lockups? Saw one dead frozen in the mall once..dead frozen..
Here's how it works
PC > XBOX > PS2 > Gaycube
The man has taste! ;)Quote:

well i USED to like them, until they started releaseing the ****tiest drivers on the face of the earth, do you know how many times my card went into an infinite loop while playing quake even though i had the fixed driver?Quote:

Well you might still have problems with it, Dimava's working out kinks with his Radeon and his VIA chipset :( seems that it works without the VIA 4 in 1 drivers but of course it means slower performance :(Quote:
