icons
OK, I'm starting to make my own icons, but I'm running into problems.
I've made one 32x32 72dpi, 16 color, as MSDN says, yet my project doesn't want to accept it... I keep getting "invalid picture" or "invalid property" when trying to insert it.
I've also done one 16x16 72dpi, 16 color with the same results.
Any ideas? hints?

Try creating it in either Microangelo or in the C++ icon editor.

OK, here's the icons i tried. The first one is the origional. The other two I resized to meet the specs that VB has stated.
I will try with the C++ icon editor.

hmmm... don't have that one. :( I'm guessing that doesn't come with Visual Studio... well thanks anyways. I appreciate it.

It does not come with VS. It is its own software package and is by far the best Icon editor I have ever used. Its a pay software, but it is well worth the money.
It is available at www.impactsoftware.com .

I second that. Microangelo is an awesome program. You can actually shrink a 24 bit image to the icon size in your normal image editor and in many cases it will look good when pasted into Microangelo. I've done it many times.
It's got to be how they make all those famous people icons.
