I can't seem to concentrate on my math hw tonight, so i thought i'd ask here.
I have a proportion of 1in (on scale) = 24 ft
now the question says:
If the new floor plan is drawn to scale with a scale of 1in = 10ft how many times longer is each new line segment on the new plan then the corresponding segment on the plan shown?
I also need to show all work

As both ratios are 1:x, you have a ratio of 24:10. 24/10 = 2.4, so the new line segments are 2.4 times longer on the new plan.
To show this, consider a length on the old scale of 48 ft. This would be 2 inches. On the new scale, a length of 48 foot would be 4.8 inches. 2 * (2.4) = 4.8.
