I have my rwsolution set to 800x600 right now, but would like to set it to one notch up. The problem is, whenever I go one notch up, the picture doesnt fill the entire monitor. It only takes up a section in the monitor. How can I have 1024x728 fitting in the entire monitor?
Maybe your monitor just sucks...mine did the same thing...POS that thing was..
Try messing with the refresh rate, that's all I can think of...
If i bump it to the top setting (85hz) it gets bigger, but not the same as it is at 800x600
Could try the Windows display settings on the control panel. Maybe reduce the display....
Or maybe muck around with the actual monitor pre-sets...not sure of monitor, but this one has buttons under the actual screen which allow screen size reduction...
I've had a POS 14 inch monitor like you have Ross..I know what you mean...a POS :D
I used to have a 14" when i got my computer, however the moniter belonged to my parents so i bought a moniter and then the crappy one went with the crappy computer:p
my monitor did the same thing.
but my monitor has these controls where you can manually adjust how the image fit onto the screen. maybe your monitor has them, it should, i know most monitors out have them.

I want a monitor but can find one good enough for a very, very cheap price. The eternal battle...

i bought mine for i think $270 canadian, and he threw in a 6 pack of CD-RW's
In your Display Properties Window (Right Click on Desktop), see if there is a List Box (Mine is near lower right corner). There are three options: Stretch, Center, & Tile. Try Stretch.
If your monitor can do it, this is the way to ask for full screen display. Some of the older Display adapters could not do it, so the OS might be smart enough to not provide the options.
