have you ever noticed, when you are talking to a girl, and they ask you what you do for fun, and you mention programming, than ask about it, after about 25 seconds they say they are busy and walk away?
that happens to me all the time :mad:
why is this always happening? :confused:
I find programming interesting, it combines computers, with math, and stuff....
how could someone not find that interesting? :confused:

Don't worry, girls have lower tolerance for alcohol then guys so that should solve your problem.
Don't say you like programming then, Say you're a FireMan, or you work with underpriveliged children or something, or even better, you enjoy putting out fires for underprveliged children.
Well I don't think its programming that turns girls off, its when your a little "overzealous" about it in conversations. I'm guilty of doing that everynow and then too.

Her brain takes this and relates it to you and comes up with some sort of guy who knows about computers. Not bad. Then her brain starts the guessing game. And in most cases comes up with your typical computer geek stereotype. (Grr!)
Solution
Mention programming as casually as possible. Kind of sneaking it in to conversation. Or don't mension it ontill things are working out well.
(NOTE: This is all based on observation and experience. So this my not apply in your case.)

I've never had to admit to being a programmer, If someone asks me what I do for fun I don't say programming, stop saying you program for fun, programming isn't cool, if someone asks you why there's a load of programming books say that its what your'e good at and then change the subject and talk about her.
If you tell most males or females that you find programming fun you should probably expect to have to pick their jaw up off the floor. Not everyone finds programming fun for somereason.
They assosciate it with being geekey :D
