Re-install VB too.
The error you're referring to (I think) is actually that the componant is not registered in the system registry. Completely uninstall then re-install all of VB.

I presume you either have learning edition or a downloaded version from some where so goto the above address and search for winsock register I think

oops sorry didnt read your whole message, just read "Where can i register a license for winsock control?" and posted my response
just thought you must have a non legit version of vb or had the learning edition.
then yeah I'd go with Paul282 just reinstall vb, I hate reinstalling vb, every time I have screwed up my comp and have had to reinstall vb, vb just doesnt feel the same.
If you have vb5 I can send you a file to fix up all the proper licenses for your version of vb, email me if you want it: [email protected]

I have the legal Visual Studio 6.0 version. But this time
i have only selected Visual Basic 6 to install.
But i will try to reinstall vb and i think some other files.

no no no
i hate when someone gets this problem and everyone says reinstall. that does NOT fix the problem, the problem is there is a missing key in your registry. this took me a long time to learn, and i reinstall VB ike 12 times but it still gave me problems with some OCX files and some controls. if you check http://www.microsoft.com you should find a file that fixes all liscence problems for VB. i forgot where it was located because it was so long ago, but i remember it was pretty hard to find. look for something that fixes registry or liscensing problems with VB. good luck!
