Something like an audigy VS my integrated sound. My sound is pretty good right now, I just dont see how it could improve, but surely it does.

Most likley would be when you are playing games. I get pauses and stuff now when i am playing games, and i have integrated sound.
Your speakers must be crap then because AC97 audio blows
Listen with some headphones...good headphones...and you'll see how it sounds tinny
a Sound Blaster Audigy is good...if you want to save money see if you can find a Hercules Muse XL, it's pretty cheap and it sounds decent too =)
Yeah, i got some awesome headphones, and on some songs i hear all this crackeling
I had the same sound chip as you, it's better than AC97 but still not that greatQuote:

i've got a sound blaster live platinum and a pretty nice stereo (hooked up throught auxilary) so my sound usually sounds quite good
Ok so the advantages are:
1. Fuller stronger sound
2. Less static and stops in games
3. Support for more then 2 speakers
anything else?
Maybe they should come with a dictionary...:DQuote:

They can come with digital outputs for integration with your home theatre.
