Not only will it beat a 2.4 Northwood stock, but it will probably OC pretty well also.

They better be wrong
Im gonna be fine with my dual for a while, depending at the time mynext might be a quad, probaly a Xeon thou as i dont like these problems with the AMD boards all the time
Blacombe? aint it Black Comb?
AMD dual platforms are very new, give them some time to mature. Intel's been doing dual platforms for years, ever since the original Pentiums... AMD hasn't even been in it for a year. And I think they've come very far with it as the AMD solutions pretty much kill the Intel Xeons (not the Xeon MPs and stuff..just the regular old Xeons)Quote:

So give it some time, and I told you a single chip platform would be better :p
Yeah it is but GG can't spell, he calls his processor an "Atholon"
I know they are new, in a way i wish i just hit out a nice dual 1.8Ghz Xeon, which a single one is just about the same power as a Athlon1800MP, thou dual Xeon whould rip athlon out duallie out :pQuote:

Still i much rather a dual rig to a single procsr platform.
I would like to see Athlon get further into dual/quad SMP thou work a little harder on all these stupid little problems before releasing, noone wants to buy a dual athlon for a server if they are gonna have problems with it all the time.
i am sad because the release of black combe is a whole lot of many many years off.
Maybe not ;)Quote:

well the next release is long horne, since releases tend to be 2-3 years apart (95 - 98) (ME-XP) that leaves 4-6 years for me to get a new computer
4 to 6 years, holy !@#$...I hope you at least get a couple of upgrades within that timeQuote:

well Justin I hate to tell you and I don't like it one bit, but your favorite computer manufacture (dell) and chip manufacture (intel)may have out done themselves.Quote:

Maybe they are saving their energy for Clawhammer, since they're going to knock Intel out cold with that chip. :D
