And make sure you have the latest version of MSI.Code:msiexec /unregister
msiexec /regserver
And go through this FAQ, just fyi.

might I add that I get this error on all the .Net components that I try to install (3.d party controls)

all the .Net comp. I'v tried installing so far has returned the same message :
"The installer was interrupted before YourApp could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again."

Have you tried with Inno Setup already?
Datadynamics sucks. :D
My best guess is your MSI version has a problem. WHat OS and what SP do you have?

winxp pro 2002 SP1
hmm....found the answer to this.. all the installation files were located on a disk where I had changed the persmissions... seems that winxp admin account needs full rights to the disk where the msi files are executed from... moved them to my c drive, run them... no problems... why cant ms tell me that this is the problem... :rolleyes:
