A leading entomologist has warned of a summer Funnel-web spider outbreak following a recent incident involving a young girl.
The girl, Tanya Muffet, was reportedly sitting in a secluded tuffet enjoying a meal when a large spider proceeded to sit down beisde her. Apparently the spider was attracted to her meal of curds and whey and authorities are warning parents to ensure this popular snack is only consumed in the relative safety of the home for the duration of the outbreak.
And here's a photo...l would like to see the Croc hunter handle one of these down his daks.

They were all over the shop back on the Coast.
And anyway, Steve is scared of spiders, he just dabbles in crocs and sex-starved oranghutans.:D
Never ending battle on the coast, move into this place and found 13 holes when l mowed the back lawn. The old boiling water did the trick, though locals informed me that petrol is much more exciting, specially if you included a few cases of beer during the activity.
Our next door neighbour claimed they were mock funnel webs????
Evn after they removed a tree stump from ho backyard and found dozens of the little buggers.
how deadly are the funnel webs ??

Er...actually you have approx 1/2 an hour to make it to Hospital else your toast, very very deadly. Home warning kids, they are not a flying toy;)
Bite symptoms are extreme pain around bite area, difficulty in breathing, enjoyment of boy band music....it's real bad:eek:

eurgh, i hate spiders, lol *shudders* Call me Vicky if u want, but to tell you the truth i don't care how anyone spells my name, I've had Vici, Vicki, Vicy, Vikki, Vicky :) So i'm not really bothered any more.

Yeah spiders aren't a favourite around our place either. When we get huntsman inside, (big hairy creepy things), its alot of running around screaming like a little girl. Then my wife picks it up and puts it outside:rolleyes:
Lucky that on the Coast we had the Reptile Park - the single largest store of anti-venin for funnel web bites. It was a bit worrisome when it burnt down a few years back...:eek:
That was a real bummer...
Got a couple out of the pool, and phoned them, (anti-Venom has only six months shelf life), and they said sure we will take them. Could you deliver.

BEst way to keep 'em is in a fat-arse glass jar. :p
It's the only real way to catch 'em safely too. Damn you should see those things going nuts fanging the glass when they're trapped...:eek:
LOL I can just imagine the fun that Mrs Jello could have if she snuck another similar glass jar into the car for the trip to the anti venom lab...

We haven't got any poisonous ones in Wales *phew*, but I hate them all the same. I don't mind the itty - bitty ones, but my boyfriends terrified of them all, he gets nervous when he sees cobwebs ;)Quote:

We have great big evil hairy monster...er...excuse me while l check under my desk:eek: Hey, that's where l left that pizza, scrape some mold off it, and that's lunch taken care of;)
spiders don't bother me, at least they don't make any noise :)
I like spiders too... especially the funny looking daddy long legs that is harmless to humans but eats other spiders.. so cute. :)

Oh that's not as bad as the cockroaches that crawl onto your face at night and eat any leftovers stuck between your teeth :eek:

Yep, 'fraid so. And those cammo dinos in J.P III - we bred them specially out in the bush a few years back. We had to breed out some of the more violent tendencies, so the seppo...erm... american movie blokes could handle 'em without getting hurt.

I am convinced of the existence of the mysterious Burposaurus and Fartosaurus whenever I go bushwalking with certain friends. :D
