Come on guys I need some help, my exam is in 1h. I am never good at opening paragraphs I am too direct which teachers hate. Please give me a hand :)
Basically, your opening paragraph should do the following:
Describe what you are trying to do. (Waffle about the title)
Overview of the thesis/antithesis.
Describe what you understand to be Dramic and Poetic significance (a definition of teh terms would be OK)
A quick overview of your main arguments. Not too much detail and don't put any of your conclusions in there.)
Bear in mind rhyme, meter and how these add detract from the poets intention in the given piece. These are what you will be trying to judge. It's that type of thing anyway. Good luck
Oh, and if its one essay covering the two pieces, don't forget the good ole 'compare and contrast' the different ways that it is handled in each play.
Well I off to my exam wish me luck :)
