Probably easy riddle for you guys..

What is the least amount of coins needed to be able to make any fraction of a dollar, and what are the coins.

maybe i am not getting this, actually probably i am not getting this but wouldn't it be 1 pennie or 1/100th of a dollar?

I think he means what is the minimum coins would u need to have in ur pocket so that u could make any number between 1 and 100 cents... ie if u had to pay 7 cents u would need 1 five and 1 two cent... if u had to pay 78 cents u would use 1 fifty, hmm here is where i lose it... i dont quite know what the denominations are in america. u have a 25 quarter? is that right? maybe u need to give a list of available coins... we have bugger all coins below $1 now .. only 5,10,20 and 50.

unless there is some trick to it I would think that it would be:

1 cents : 4
5 cents : 1
10cents : 2
25cents : 1
50cents : 1 'or 2 if u also want to include a dollar

So, 9 or 10 coins...

me feels a trick coming on... :p

I think Stuart has the answer unless you mean minimum number of types (not total) of coins: answer = pennies in that case
