Visualization

Hi,
I want to make a program that reads a wave\mp3 file and makes a graphic form of that file, ike in Atomix or winamp(visualization)
and I have no idead how to get the bit rate, or the pattern, or something that can tell me how the songs "looks" like.

For several weeks now I've tried to decode the Mp3 headers and I can't find out how. Once I get it to work I'll get back to ya, as for now I can't give you much advice, because the Mp3 specs aren't free.

well i hope you find out quickly.... anyhow, i don't need mp3's in particular, i need for waves too...
