Removing items from strings?

Ok, heres my prog:
You click on a checkbox, which depending on whether it is the first item in the string or not adds one of two things to the end. What I can't however figure out is how to remove that if someone decides to uncheck the box.

Use the Replace function.

lets say your string is

HelloYou

you can remove you by using replace

Replace("HelloYou","You","")
