GOOD SOURCES:
Learn Visual Basic 6 in 24 Hours.
VB6 Step-by-Step
Expert's Visual Basic
VB-World
Serge, Megatron, Aaron, and most others at the VBWorld forums.
Karl Moore and others comtributing to the VB-World tutorals
VBWeb
VBExplorer
MSDN Library
VBA For MSOffice
Visual Basic Unleashed
Dan Appman's Guide to the VB6 API (or something like that)
VBAPI.com
API Viewer
etc.
BAD SOURCES:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/
http://www.whitehouse.com/ (NOTE: THIS IS NOT A GOOD SITE)
pro_vb, Daler, and a minority (1%) of others at the VB Forums
http://www.pokemon.com/
You have the MSDN library listed as both good and bad...lol... Did you mean it like that? That's how I feel about it.
I read some books about it I got from the library. I bought Mastering Visual Basic 6, a real cool book. And Visual Basic Graphics programming, it covers things from picture processing to ray tracing. The last book is a book about a specific subject. Mastering Visual Basic is a book that covers a lot about vb, I learned a lot of it.
I think he meant that the one you get with VB or VS is good, but the one online blows. I hate the one online, it's too slow on my 56k, and it's just not very fun to use.Quote:

Also, if you're a beginner, start off with the Step-by-step or the Learning Series and slowly progress on. There are different cources you could take after learning the basics:
Database Programming
IIS and DHTML Internet Programming
API Interface
Advanced Visual Basic
DirectX and 3D Programming
Graphics Manipulation
Professional Design

anyway i could learn without buying these books i am kind of short on cash
isn't there like online tutorials that explains everything that's in the books?
thx for reply all
Can I know who is Aaron because I never see that name answering a question. And I think a lots of person should be added to the list like Filburt, Chrisjh, Blade...
He was naming some of the older "Gurus." There are plenty of people who can answer questions on this forum. There is no reason to try and name all of them.Quote:
