you can't use a dial up connection to run a server because of the floating IP problem, you need a connection with a fixed IP or to rent a server with a fixed IP from one of the ISP companies
I am working on a service for win2k..
It seems to update a redirect page....sometimes..
I was just looking for Ideas?
There are a few free services out there that can be used as a static IP even if yours is not. I think one of them is from DNS@Go. Check em out at www.dns2go.com. As long as this service is running, anyone looking for your site, ie www.smashingsworld.dns2go.com will be redirected to your current IP. It's worth a look.
www.tzo.com is also a dynamic DNS service
Sounds like what I am doing.. But a bit more reliable..

There are also some routers that support dynamic DNS. See the following link for an example.
