I actually don't quite know, but my guess is that they remove some of the "noise"....
Well some of them split the download into two or more parts and then download them at same time.
The way the majority of them work is by connecting multiple times to the same source, or sometimes mirror sites.
Then they download a 'ittle bit o yer file from each and squish it all together at the end... increases the chance of a bad crc by quite a bit.. or at least it did.
If u want to build one its fairly simple.. i guess
just build a app that connects to a website and checks for 'resume ability and if they can set the variable for start - end range... search around you'll find people who made demos.. a nice one to look at it flashget (shows all the html code they send)
hey thanx......but actually what is the dif between downloading the file completely and doin it in bits?
Well, consider if you have a 500 mb file... You might not want to download it all at once (you probably wouldn't be able to anyway), so you download it in bits.Quote:

i know.....about it being Reumable.....but how on earth does it gets faster........?
that only happens based on your isp, and their server.
Some isp's cap the max speed on a single download to.. lets say 128kb (big bits) so you might see it hitting mid 200's on small quick downloads but you're never gonna get that speed on a nice big fat download..
But! if you have multiple connections downloading same job then (lets just say 4 ) you have the max. speed potential for 4 x 128 or 512kb(big bits) which is a hell of alot faster.. :)
hope it helps you somewhat
