Hi i was just getting my teeths into Java these days, and what Compiler should you think that i should go to J++ from MS or the JDK thing from Sun, or is there other thing i can get? give me some advice
oh you should most definetly go with the sun version of JDK, it is soo much superior, on what is more, if you use the text editor textpad, it will use the jdk compiler and compile it for you within the editor, very cool
i wouldn't touch that Micro$oft thing if i were you, very nasty :p
thanx. ........ but i can't seem to get the correct URL for the JDK can you please give me the URL for JDK download?
You are really talking about two diffrent things. Even though J++ has the compiler it's also an IDE. The jdk is obviously not. So the question should be what IDE should i use(becuase using the jdk is a given:p ) JBuilder, FORTE, JCreator?
I'm generally satisfied with ForteCE....
What's FORTEce? Is that diffrent from FORTE?
Forte is the product, CE means that it is the CommunityEdition
You can also use JCreator, which is freeware and integerates nicely w/ the IDE and has lower requirements than Forte, Forte is better for SWING apps.
Yes, I actually bought or should i say downloaded JCreator. It cost me i think $70.00 or so and it is really a good IDE. Fast since it is written entirely in C++. I had FORTE and while i like it, it was way too slow. im running 64Mb or ram and it requires 128Mb so i think that was the problem.
ok then what is the best Java IDE? i can easily get Acess to J++ is it good enough for use?
I wouldnt use J++ since it's no longer in use as far as i know.
If you have a good amount of memory on your computer use FORTE, if not you can always get the free version of JCreator from their website or i heard other people say that JBuiler from Borland is good.
ok but i already have J++ is it no good at all?
J2K is great I have it and it work perfectly
Last time i heard anything about J++ was two years ago.
J++ was taken out of our school course because of problems relating to MicroSoft and Sun fighting over programming rights and other stuff. I don't know if J++ is still around. If it is then use it. :p
thanks guys...... alothugh i had J++ i went ahead and bought Jbuilder from Borlands, hey but dosen't the JDK auotomatically install it self when i install Jbuilder?
I havent had a chance to use any products from Borland
but my friend ahd Turbo Pascal and it looked really good to me.
I dont think that the JDK will self install becuase i know a couple of people had the same problem.
then i have to download it then?
Your guess is as good as mine. :p
then i have to download it?
Is there an echo in here? :p
