Hi.
I've seen QBasic mentioned a couple of times on this Forum, with some people wishing they could get a copy of it. I understand it to be the forerunner of VB. I checked on my old PC that I gave to my mom, and it has QBasic on it. Soon, I'll get another PC and my mom will get this one. Should I try to copy QBasic off of that PC before we get rid of it? Or is it more of a novelty these days that's not worth worth hanging on to?
Thanks for any suggestions.

It is fun to play with, so if you want it copy it now! I do believe that you won't find it unless you have windows 3.x or older.

Qbasic was really great. I've used it in two years before i got my first Vb (v1.0) and since that i've lost my interest in it. But now i found out that the Qbasic.hlp file is missing... My friends have the same problem.
Is that a common problem? Or do any one else have it?

QBasic is great. I have versions 1.0, 4.5, and 7.1, and I use all of them. often I write dificult code in qbasic before I try it in VB because it is a lot faster to write and compile. Also, one can write .exes in 4.5 and 7.1, with no runtime .dlls, just the .exe. I like that. Sure, keep it. Also look for the other versions on the net. You won't regret it.

QBasic
Hi all!
Be aware that QBasic is a DOS program.
QBasic that comes with DOS 5.0 and forth, is a feature-less version of Quick-Basic and is not capable of making exes.

If anyone is after a copy of it, it's tucked away in the 'Other' directory on the win95 CDROM
... Never did learn how to use peek and poke properly back then :-)

i liked the game nibbles that came with it :)
