Jesus4u Thread...

In response to the moderator's request and to preserve some sort of relationship with you guys, I will post all my daily Bible verses and comments about Jesus Christ into this thread only. I may from time to time make comments about God in other threads but to calm everyones' fears that I might brainwash some, I will post in this thread.

So, does this divine creator of yours really think that he is a kind and loving god? Does he really think that we should love him of our own free will when he threatens to damn us? I understand that right and wrong are subjective, but doesn't it seem he is going against his own preachings of what is right?

I also think this is an amicabale solution.

Mind you, I still believe in Santa clause, so it shows you how much I know.

God is the Creator. From my view point that is a reality that we all have to deal with. He can do what He wants. Jesus Christ offers a life full of peace, fullfillment and joy in following Him. Nothing ever bad has resulted after a decision to follow Christ has been truly made. I, nor thousands of others ever regret following Christ. It is the because of bad experiences, one which people here have grouped me into the same category, that people are turned away from Christ. We have to realize we all, including me are human we make mistakes in the way we share things, BUT
from my point of view, we STILL have to deal with Jesus without letting some bad apples ruin our own entrance into knowing Him.
God will never force His views on us. He will let us choose. If you TRULY turn to God in repentance then you will know for sure without a shadow of doubt that HE is loving , caring and very interested in your life. But it seems you are not giving Him a chance.

OK, I've stayed out of these threads, but now I have to step in. You said that nothing bad ever happens from the decision to follow christ. What about the thousands of christians who are persecuted, killed and tortured for their faith every year in countries around the world. Check outhttp://www.persecution.net/main.htm I am a christian, but I have to say that I do not agree with your methods or most of your views. I would also like to remind everyone that he does not speak for all christians.

But according to Christ that is not a bad thing seeing we as Christians are looking forward to spending eternity with Him.
He also said that some would be killed for His name. Notice the difference...Some Christians are KILLED we don't go out and committ suicide in a plane.

I don't see how I can misunderstand. You say nothing bad happens if you truely follow Christ. The kids truely follow Christ and are raped and tortured by the priests. What is there to misunderstand. It is quite apparent that bad things do happen to those who truely follow Christ.

ok I see your point. Yes we do live in a horrible world and bad things do happen to the innocent. But Christ is there to put back in place what man has chosen by his freewill to do.

yes He does. But again FREEWILL. God will in the future put this messy world back into place.

Yes, he doesn't "force" his will on us. But he doesn't give us a free choice. He has created a universe, and created a race of slaves, and has stated in no unclear terms, that if we reject him, if we simply refuse to love him, we will be punished.

I'm sorry, that may not constitute "force", but it is surely duress.

America has never and will never negotiate with terrorist. The first time you do, you loose because you have justified their actions.

Your god is a terrorist, threatening me with destruction or worse unless I give in to his demands! I don't care how good it may be to give in, the ends do not justify the means.

How did you get into this tangent? I didn't say anything about killing in Christ's name.

Are you saying that if someone killed your family, took away every posession that you have and tortured you until you nearly died just because you believed in Christ, you wouldn't think anything bad happened to you? I'd like to get you into a room with some people who actually get persecuted for their faith and then have you tell them that nothing bad has happened to them. Take off your rose colored glasses and wake up!

Uhm... what bad has happened? Pain is temporary, death is just a passing from one state to the other. You are highlighting mortal drama, which in the grand scheme of things is superficial.

My friend I know several misionaries in the Sudan right now who have lost limbs, family members and close friends for what they believe in and you know what? They ARE the happiest people I know. So please, I have first hand experience with that one.

Happiness is not necessarily being comfortable but living what you believe in. Some people live lies and never get to DO what they were made to do.

Well, it is true. A kidnapper is a terrorist, who demands a ransome for the return of his prey. How is your god any different than that? He demands our love in return for his mercy.

Tennisman, I can't think of easy way to say this, so I'll just say, shut up. If you want a semantic arguement, go elsewhere. I consider kidnappers terrorist. They take a measure to elicit a response. You fear the consequences, so you have to react. That is terrorism. That is what a kidnapper is.

Yes a kidnapper is a different beast from the terrorist involved in 9/11, but he is still a terrorist.

J4U, I have no problem with authority telling me what to do. But throughout my life, authority has been one of two creatures: those who have authority because of their position in my life (parents), and those who have authority because I gave them that authority (President).

Your god was not given any authority, so he must be acting under the assumption that he is a parent. Funny, my parents always did things for my best interest, and would explain to me their goals. My parents also never demanded that I love them. They demanded that I clean my room.

Your god not only demands that I obey his commandments, but that I love him aswell. Your god is obviously a very bad parent, and is clearly not using his authority correctly.

Again, this causes me to sympathize with Lucifer.

Did you parents threaten to destroy you if you did not love them? What makes your god think this is a good idea?
