He needs to go - plain and simple.....

It is one thing to discuss religion, it is another to attempt to influence weak minded and impressionable people and attempt to recruit them into whatever faction he is a part of.....

I believe that if J4U gets one person interested then he will latch onto that person and brainwash them.....

I have seen the way these people operate, it is devious and dangerous, and his mass preaching is the first stage in finding a victim - trust me, i've seen it first hand.

The destruction and pain that these people can cause is large and very real.

All it takes is one curious impressionable person and he'll be as happy as larry....

If you dispute my thoughts then please PM me and i'll give you the whole sordid story of what happened to my family if it'll help convince you....but I GUARANTEE you that this is what he is trying to do...

The important word here is discussion. If j4u was keen to discuss the results of his plagarism, then I see no problem.

But random postings of biblical snippets and replying to queries about these posts with tghe same religio-blipverts amounts to as much value as spam.

Sorry simon, I got to say that I'd prefer the threads to continue - I'm almost addicted to the fragility of the proof of Christianity.

Guys, I think we're getting off the point a bit here. To me, this is a discussion forum for individuals to express their views, essentially on the subjects of coding etc. By kind grace there is a chit-chat board.

To my mind, this chitchat board is categorically NOT a forum in which to bang any drum, be it political, religious,, moral or anything else to the intensity of that which J4U is doing.

By all means debate issues, any issues, but what J4U is doing is 'selling', or 'spamming' his religious wares because it makes him feel good about himself and not to canvass opinion or to open up any spirited discussion.

The propaganda moungering tactics he uses to sell his wares are tantamount to mis-use of these boards and as such I would advocate censure.

Look, the whole point here is that J4U insults the very notion of discussion.

I want to communicate with him. But, he has demonstrated repeatedly that he in not interested in debate. He throws quotes at us claiming to have Jesus communicate with us directly. Any question you put to him is met (if attall) only indirectly. He is derogetory towards those that he speaks at. I say AT and not TO because this is exactly what he does.

I happen to feel that the best way to communicate that to him is to (temporarilly) boycott his threads. Responding to his threads only reinforces his attitude. He doesn't read anything anyone says in response to his quotations (at least he doesn't give any indication of doing so).

If you have some strong reason to think he's up to no good - operating for some sort of evil cult and is acting fraudulently for instance- then rather than you mentioning it here you should be bringing it to the attention of the Law! I have never felt the need to go this far with anyone I've ever encountered on this forum. Even those who have thrown insults and are agressive in the way they post I never felt that they should be boycotted (or banned).

I have never felt anyone to be a noose about the throat of reason as much as J4U. I find his attitude universally disrespectful to all members of this forum. I do not make this claim lightly.

If he doesn't want to debte the merrits of his faith/religion then fine, don't keep starting threads on the subject. But the way he he spouts his beliefs and then refuses blatantly to address anything that people say to him, conveys a sence of smugness and superiority that I find truly offensive.

I (and many others) have repeatedly tried to reason with him and get him to stop preaching and start debating but he is impervious to it. I honestly feel that the only way we can get through to him now is to boycott him.

We could always crucify him?

First, those who respond to him are either interested or wants to debate; the latter to also bend the "truth" to his disadvantage, that is entering his territory. IF he refuse to respond, then he looses the debate, and thats that. If you think he is arrogant, have he explicitely expressed this? If he has then the situation is clear, he has not earned YOUR respect, not everyones respect. There is no need for DISrespect, which is completely offensive in contrast to just no respect.

I have not said to people that they should avoid him, or tried to stop anyone from talking to him....

I have expressed my thoughts i.e. he should go == should be banned.

I have also expressed my perceived opinion of his intention, and tried to make it clear what I believe his intentions to be.

Although I have made it clear I have not attempted to encite or entice anyone to my opinions - I have in fact said the opposite:

No, I have not changed my mind. My assertion is the same that I set out with when I began this thread and I don't need to reiterate them.

I don't think people will be infused with a dislike after anything I say about J4U. People will make up their own minds. It is not the purpose of this thread to encourage people to disrespect J4U. The purpose of this thread is to encourage other like minded people to embark on a particular course of action.

You underestimate the other people on this forum to such an extent that it borders on being disrespectful. You are suggesting that they are not capable of making up their own minds.

Have you seen those thread with typical insults; "Is denniswrenn a retard?" for instance. That question isn't directly an insult, but it does suggest it. The poll was closed because leaving it open could accumulate disrepsect towards Dennis. Similarily your suggestion could accumulate disrespect towards J4U which is inself an implicit act of disrespect. It is not wrong to disrespect but to express disrespect is offensive.

When you define the runtime function O(n) of an algoritm you do the most pessimistic assumptions, resulting in worst case n for O. Similarily I do the most pessimistic interpretation of the results of your expression. Also a parallell to the Dennis Wrenn thread, I bet that all would have voted no but it still leaves an open door to those who have something against him.

Hate all you want, but you don't have to hit the one you hate for that reason. You can't undermine your hate but you can avoid the transplantation of furhter hate and make something productive out of it. I do have disrespectful attitudes to people in my life but i mostly keep them to myself, or i can go talk to the one i hate and resolve the problems and go home happy, but i rarely spread my disrespect.

LOL I don't hate anyone. But at the same time I dont feel the need to bottle every emotion about people. There is no life obligation to like everyone equally. Might sound cold but I (and i am sure many others) use perceptions of people we meet and act accordingly.

Hmm, I never once mentioned anything about preventing you expressing your ideas. I merely said that i dont agree with them all. I am allowed that view as much as you ar allowed yours. In regard to maturity it may be a translation issue but it is not in reference to you dropping your pants at passing buses. I am commenting on my perception of your solutions to world problems etc. Again, I dont think bad of you for dreaming this way in the same way that I wish kids would never lose their innocence (oh gawd pls dont join them together as a perceived insult!! :p ). I would love to debate but i have had a few beers and some very strange liquer containing gold flakes and am about to head off to la la land.
