Try this given a traingle with 5 bubbles on each side...
Use the number one thru 12 to come up with each side equalling 32.
I helped my 9 year old do this for his math class...
So if you are bored, try it. If not, nine times out of ten you wouldn't have bothered lokking in here anyway.

9+12+7+1+3 =32
Using the 9,
9+2+4+11+6 = 32
Using the 6,
6+10+8+5+3 = 32
Using the 3, hook back to the 9
3+1+7+12+9 = 32
You see perfect triangle using 1 thru 12 numbers the points of the traingle can be used but they do not duplicate.
Now with the result can you do it? I want a program that does it...

What would be really interesting would be some way of determining how many unique solutions there are. We know there are at least two since our solutions are different, but you would have to be really good at math for that.
A shopper walks into a grocery store and buys half of all the oranges in the store plus 1/2 of an orange.
A second shopper walks into the store and does the same thing. He buys half of all the oranges in the store plus 1/2 of an orange.
A third shopper does the same thing. He buys half of all the oranges in the store plus 1/2 of an orange, but in doing so he buys all the oranges in the store.
How many oranges were there to begin with? This isn't a trick question. :)
The catch is that half the oranges plus half an orange yields a whole number.Quote:

Oranges left 7 - 4 = 3
Second shopper buys half of them (1.5) and a half (0.5) total bought 2.
Oranges left 3-2 = 1
Third shopper buys half of them (0.5) and a half (0.5) total bought 1 which is all the oranges left in the store.

In English, there is a saying: You cannot have an apple and eat it too. (OK, it's not about an apple, but what the heck!)
So if you take one apple, but don't eat it, you could have 3 apples. If you ate the apple that you take, you could have two apples. If you took an apple and ate the remaining two, you could have one apple.
And if I snatched the tray away from you before you picked up the first apple, you would have NONE! :D:D:D
btw, I do get the jokes at times. ;)
