MCP in Visual Basic 6
i would like some information on how to become a Microsoft Certified Professional in Visual Basic 6, and possibly the nearest training centre and some links. It sounds a lot to ask, but I have been searching on the Microsoft UK website and I have found course 1013 but im not sure if its the right one. Can anyone help? I live in the East Midlands, Thanks

Well, to become an MCP, you have to pass any one of MS's exams - Programming, or Networkings, or Windows, etc. To become a MCSD, you need to pass four exams - a "Desktop" exam in either VB or VC++, a Distributed exam in either VB or VC++, a "Analyzing Requirements and Defining Solution Architectures", and an elective (Office VBA or SQl Server seem to be popular choices for VB people).
Here's the info from the American website. I'd think the requirements would be the same anywhere:

Thanks!
Hey thanks! This is the kinda thing I was looking for. However, I am only 16 with a lot of schoolwork to do, and this seems pretty heavy and expensive to do right away. How much is the whole course and how long does it take? i presume you are an MCSD? Thanks very much,

I think the tests are about US$100 each, which isn't terribly bad. Whether you want to pay for a course is where the money would be spent. I personally would just use books and the internet (and practicing at work). And no, I'm not an MCSD, I've been studying for it, I'm not sure if I'll actually take the tests, as I don't want to tie myself to MS too much...
